    The article said that a quarter of people didn’t read a book last year, not that they didn’t read. As an adult in this 25%, I need to make the point that I read every day. I read blogs, news, and I never miss Neatorama. It’s the media that’s changing, not the amount of reading. Books are on the way to joining stone tablets and scrolls.

    of course you realize that the poll is stupid. when 6 billion copies of the last Harry Potter books sold, i don’t think America has that much of a literacy problem.

    i’d be more inclined to go with the poll than how many harry potter books have been sold.
    not reading books only shows lack of discipline and interest, nothing more

    Wasn’t that poll targeting adults? Sure the Harry Potter books have a large adult reading audience but they sure as Hell don’t constitute the majority of adults who don’t read.
