You're right Akiro, the dance is so neat it's actually been on Neatorama twice before (Bodhisattva with 1,000 hands and Thousand-Hand Bodhisattva Dance)! But I haven't seen this particular clip before.

Again, my position is that "duplicates happen" - it's quite difficult to keep track of all of the stories we've covered in the past. Plus, some stuff deserve to be showcased more than once, because new people visit the blog every day! :)

Simon, that *is* Japanese, both the text at the top of the screen and the dialogue at the end of the performance.

This Chinese dance troupe is performing at a Japanese benefit concert--and they've been performing this routine pretty much nonstop at least since 2005, when they were a big hit at the televised Chinese New Year Gala on CCTV. And if you watch the end of the video, you'll notice that they aren't all girls either.

That's not japanese.

As Chesh said, these are Chinese deaf girls, performing a dance in honour of Bodhisattva (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodhisattva), which is a Buddist entity. Search youtube for bodhisattva and you'll find references to this video.

This video has been on the internet for ages and it's been used in many motivational speeches and speeches about TEAM WORK: all the girls are DEAF!, Imagine what kinda training they have undergone in order to be able to present this beautifully.

These people are a deaf dance troupe from China, btw. The two women in white you can see briefly at the sides of the stage are helping with their cues.
