		<description>I wonder about these things.  Dogs get so much of their confidence from their pack leaders (us!), so all the ways we reduce their confidence seem hurtful.

My has been blind for 3 years.  He goes everywhere with me (camping,running,riding on my motorcycle) and gets along fine with a bit of firm command.  This seems like a crutch in the derogatory meaning of the word.</description>
