Is it dangerous to shower in a thunderstorm? Will you drown if you eat before swimming? Will eating at night make you fat? Will having sex before a game hurt sports performance?

Check out this ABC World News webcast with The New York Times writer Anahad O’Connor on fact checking your mom’s myths: Link

The Mythbusters TV show on The Discovery Channel has covered some of this as well.

So rehashing a Mythbusters episode is what passes for World News at ABC these days... What's the point in having freedom of the press if they don't report real news?

Not at all Captain Obvious - ABC World News Webcast is actually a very neat feature from ABC. They definitely cover "real news" but they also have *a lot* of interesting pieces like this one (a perfect fit for Neatorama!)

I heard from a friend that Frank Zappa and Alice Cooper had a gross out contest once.
Frank took a crap on stage and Alice ate it!!!
