Does anyone at Neatorama speak English as a first language?

How come everyone had a Boston accent?
That’s sexist.

Filled with fun stuff: fun-filled, short and sweet: bite-sized.
English isn’t my first language, but it’s my experience that most native speaker butcher the language anyhow. At least on the Internet.

I apologize for sounding like the language police. But your plural usage is awful. It’s “fun-filled, bite-sized video clips,” not “A fun-filled, bite-sized video clips.” Also it should be “native speakerS butcher the language…” And you’re right, they do. But that’s no excuse. Be a better blogger today!

No apologies needed, Paul - actually, my spelling is worse than my grammar. Only gail, who is an English teacher, writes perfectly on Neatorama.

Plural words always trip me - that and past/present tenses. My native tongue (I grew up speaking Indonesian) has no pesky plural, tenses or gender-specific pronouns.

At least you didn’t have to learn to speak French, Alex. Then you’d have masculine and feminine nouns on top of everything else. I never did get the hang of those…

Well I’ll admit that my Indonesian totally sucks; so does my french, her, and I took 3 years in high school, him!

@ L:
*heh* Try German. We got three pronouns: masculine, feminine and neuter. And cases. Mustn’t forget the cases!
