Atlanta Time Machine: Then and Now Photos of Atlanta, GA

Posted by Alex in Pictures, Travel & Places on August 2, 2007 at 5:20 am

Atlanta Time Machine is a fantastic website by history buff Gary Germani. After finding a treasure trove of old photographs of the city at the Georgia State University Library, Gary set out to take photos of the exact same location to give a neat "then and now" comparison for things that have (or have not) changed.

This one is the statue of Henry W. Grady, an influential editor of the Atlanta Constitution newspaper in the 1880s (left: postcard from 1951, right: 2005).

There's a similar website for San Francisco, using stills from the car chase scene in "Bullitt" that is quite nifty!

I am trying to find out info on a semi-pro football team
that played at Ponce De Leon park in the early 1960's
called the Atlanta Rebels. Help me if you can!
    Thanks
