Excellent Collection and Presentation. These artists and many others violently broke traditions and paved the way for our modera eras in art and the gradual acceptance of the abstract in everyday life.

"Picasso recognized in a letter to a bishop that he only made scrawls and that the everybody was crazy saying that it was good. (from Eugenio)"

I can relate to that, usually the artist is his/her own worst critic and often celebrated and worpshipped artists cannot fully grasp, nor accept the often inflated praise and critizication of their pieces (but many, not all will embrace the fame, money, power and ability to acknowledge their impact and/or influence on local and global communities.

If only the list could be longer than five, would hopefully include Rothko, Heiss, Basquait, Litchenstein, Mondrain and Duchamp as well.

Neatorama and Mental-Floss is teh rockzors, keep the interesting posts a-flowin.
