By Alex in Animals & Pets, Pictures on Jul 23, 2007 at 4:45 am

Today’s collaboration with Cellar Image of the Day brings us this amazing photo of … a goat and a monkey on a tightrope! Apparently, the pair perform in a zoo in Nanning, southern China.

    To be honest; I get VERY angry each time I see animals performing some circus stunts.

    In my eyes no animals (except dogs probably) deserve to be treated that way. Or do you really think this monkey enjoys being leashed to that goat and having to wear this stupid costume?

    That is really unnecessary and cruel.

    Sorry but animal cruelty isn’t neat.

    Wow, this was hella neat. I really wish the pathetic whiners would leave.

    To all y’all woth your thumbs of angritude up yo asses…… look at your own life, what little costume do you dress up in, what stupid tightrope do you walk on …… what monkeys are on your backs? Get a life!!!!!!!

    Oh and about animal cruilty: How many of y’all assinie complainers have eaten a beef or chicken at any time in your life …. I’d say the animal cruilty and inhuman conditions in all the major livestock ranches and in the meat processing plants is much more real and serious than a goat and a monkey having fun, wearing silly costumes and being entertaining.

    All y’all can blow me!!!

    Neatorama rocks, keep up the interesting posts!!!!!

    @twitching

    This has nothing to do about being “pathetic complainers” as you call us. Neither have you ANY clue about what meat we eat.

    And if you really want to convince me, that this goat and monkey like the fun-part in what they are doing, I’ll have to wonder who needs a reality check here…

    Each person is entitled to his own opinion. Speaking for myself, I think the picture is really funny, and I want to see more pictures of animals performing for my amusement. Of course, all this typing has made me hungry, and I shall bid you adieu as I go forth to devour vast quantities of animal meat. That’s right: Tasty, tasty animal meat.

    Why would you be cruel to dogs? What have they done?

    It was not the smartest way to say it I guess. I think dogs can be the only animals who actually enjoy a show. I’d never be cruel to an animal.

    Are you idiots really fighting over an obviously photoshoped photo? It’s just a monkey superimposed on a goat superimposed on some random background, with a fake rope and whatever the hell that other thing is suppose to be that it’s standing on. It wasn’t even done that well.

    Why is that people defending one kind of animal abuse always feel a need to site another kind as worse? Stop participating in any of it.

    “Why is that people defending one kind of animal abuse always feel a need to site another kind as worse?”

    It’s called: Putting things in perspective. As in: Why complain about circus animals who work for a living, when farm animals are being slaughtered for their meat. And before anyone starts complaining about eating meat, let’s ask ourselves: What would Jesus eat?

    Hm. So it’s okay if the post is about a chihuahua on top of a tightrope walking doberman?

    The tightrope is on top of a turtle, and then turtles all the way down.

    To all of the people crying animal cruelty, how do you KNOW that the animals arent having fun? If you have developed some way to talk to animals, perhaps you should share.

    Just because YOU say its fact doesnt mean it is. Just because YOU think the outfit is ugly doesnt mean it is to everyone.

    Please think outside of yourselves.

    Considering the treatment of animals in general in China (have you ever seen a food market there? Do- then come back and complain), these two have it pretty good.

    “I think dogs can be the only animals who actually enjoy a show. I’d never be cruel to an animal.”

    @fluff

    Why do dogs enjoy being trained to do tricks and other animals not, just because we are used to dogs being domesticated in that way.

    I would imagine those animals are probably looked after pretty well, and they are not chained up or anything, they have been trained to do this and seem happy to do it.

    Just my opinion, and I do value opinions that are not my own.
