Mark Malkoff visited all 171 Starbucks locations in Manhattan in ONE DAY. Of course, he made a movie about the entire project. Link -via Metafilter

Now if only they sped the whole movie up and set it to "I Feel Fantastic"...

Is that guy trying out for a job as a local news reporter? You know, the guy that does the "wacky" stories. Even though I think it was a cool project, the video is pure news fluff cheeseball filler story.

He already works for the Colbert report.

Impressive...but there's a movie called Starbucking that follows a guy's attempt to visit every Starbucks in the world. So far he's done about 7500 stores. Insane? Very.

171 in Manhattan, Christ on a bike! Clever marketing by Starbucks, like were supposed to believe this little stunt was not dreamed up on Madison Avenue.

Many of the women in my office go to the Starbucks near us sometimes three times a day. I added it up and they must have monthly coffee bills exceeding $250.

It would have been a great opportunity for him to ask each starbucks what free trade coffee they offer, if any.

Radar Online has a blow-by-blow diary of the Malkoff fiasco here:

Someone very eloquent explains to me that Starbucks is the one "indulgence" that people with very little money will splurge on.
