So, basically, 16 out of 18 agents didn't reply. This doesn't mean they rejected Jane Austen's work - it could mean that 17 out of 18 recognized it and only two were stupid enough to waste their time with a response.
Is David Lassman maybe a little bitter about rejection of one of his books?
