Panther cub adopted by dog.

By Miss Cellania in Animals & Pets, Video Clips on Jul 16, 2007 at 7:23 am

A baby black panther at the Belgrade Zoo was given to a nursing Siberian Husky Rhodesian Ridgeback after her mother tried to kill her.

“The mother panther has killed all her cubs since 1999,” zookeeper Dragan Jovanovic said.

“We believe she has been traumatized by the sound of NATO bombs” during airstrikes in the Serbian capital intended to stop former President Slobodan Milosevic’s crackdown against ethnic Albanian separatists in 1999, he said.

Correction: The above video is of an earlier panther cub, possibly from the same mother. Videos of the latest cub adopted by a dog are here. (Thanks, Mark!)

I think that it’s more likely she was traumatized by hearing the Monica Lewinsky tapes.

I believe the cub was actually adopted by a Rhodesian Ridgeback.

Mark, you are right! This video is probably from an earlier birth from the same panther mother. Makes you wonder why they keep breeding her.
