So THAT’S the connection! I saw this animation a long time ago and forgot about it before I started collecting the capsule toys. Then the animation popped up again and I noticed the resemblance. PS – Lisa, you wanna give me your lion egg, right? I’ve got lots of bunnies!

I’ve seen a few capsule toy machines around with I Love Egg phone accessories in them. They’re made of rubber and made to look like decorated eggs, and there’s a face (the yolk of the egg) that peeks out.

That said, I’m missing the Magician Egg, Juggler Egg, and Bunny Egg…

the bears look a lot like the japanese “gloomy bear” brand…granted it’s prob’ly pretty hard to not draw a cartoon bear and have it look otherwise, but still…..
