Brand Identity of Terrorist Groups

Even terrorist organizations need brand identities! Ironic Sans did the research for this strangely entertaining post on logos of terrorist groups around the world (well, mostly from the Middle East, I suppose): Link - Thanks Dumidu!

The PFLP and is not a “terrorist group.” They’re freedom fighters, or anti-occupation resistance groups.

Freedom fighters my ass. The PFLP bastards blew up Swissair flight 330 in mid-flight in 1970, among other barbaric attacks on civilians. Plenty of dumb justifications for this type of thing but don’t mince words or try to redefine terrorism. It is what it is.

Quiet, filthy terrorists. Please remain in your caves and await your eventual bombing by the US.

    REG:
Right. You’re in. Listen. The only people we hate more than the Romans are the fucking Judean People’s Front.
    P.F.J.:
    Yeah…
    JUDITH:
    Splitters.
    P.F.J.:
    Splitters…
    FRANCIS:
And the Judean Popular People’s Front.
    P.F.J.:
    Yeah. Oh, yeah. Splitters. Splitters…
    LORETTA:
And the People’s Front of Judea.
    P.F.J.:
    Yeah. Splitters. Splitters…
    REG:
    What?
    LORETTA:
The People’s Front of Judea. Splitters.
    REG:
We’re the People’s Front of Judea!
    LORETTA:
Oh. I thought we were the Popular Front.
    REG:
    People’s Front! C-huh.
    FRANCIS:
Whatever happened to the Popular Front, Reg?
    REG:
    He’s over there.
    P.F.J.:
    Splitter!

For some reason I expected the Red Brigade to look slightly cooler than something someone made in their garage.
