Spacediving.

By Miss Cellania in Everything Else on Jun 27, 2007 at 1:34 pm

150_spacedivers.jpgRe-entry from space without a ship is not something to be taken lightly, although someday spacediving might save lives. A 60-mile freefall is possible, but would require a special suit and helmet. Rick Tumlinson, founder of the Space Frontier Foundation, and former NASA flight surgeon Jonathan Clark formed the company Orbital Outfitters to produce such a suit. Link -via Metafilter.

Like the article mention, Joe Kittinger did an 18-mile space jump in 1960.
