It'd be stupid to keep the lid closed like that. I've got a PowerBook G4 that I use with an external monitor when at work, and the PB sits on a stand that keeps the two monitors at the same height, and doesn't use any more desk space than "The Floater". Looks like all of Balmuda's products are over-priced & over-engineered. The biggest problem with "The Floater" (aside from the name!) is that it keeps the lid closed; if you're using an external monitor with the MacBook Pro, it can operate in dual screen mode.
