i once ran out of regular old mint flavored toothpaste and all we had was my little brother’s curious george banana-flavored kind (i think it was actually banana berry, but thats not how its listed on the link.) it was TERRIBLE- worse than i could have ever imagined. the thing is, he used it everyday and even said mint-flavored was gross! i decided i could go without brushing my teeth for that day and only used mouthwash… blech.

Disgusting is just a matter of perspective. Nothing on that list was really “disgusting” or taboo even. It’s not like any of it was unclean or dangerous.

I know a lot of Europeans think that American flavors like Root Beer and our constant use of peanuts are disgusting.

When I went to france there was this Clove-flavored gum being sold in Paris…apparently very popular, too, but it tasted just vile.

As for disgusting toothpastes, Tom’s of Maine…or whatever it’s called has some rather ick flavors, such as fennel. Plus they have a tendancy to be rather gritty, being “all-natural” and whatnot…I think I’ll stick with my mint unnatural toothpaste.

col mcgillveray has deduced why I miss celery jello… other than the fact that I liked the flavor.

Thanks for the picture of the celery flavored jello box, cool! At one time, Jello was made in chocolate, vanilla, coffee and tea flavors. Even their bad taste had its limits, there was no carrot flavored jello!

Also, Lifesavers (1930’s?) used to be made in violet flavor, and there is this disgusting flavored gum made by Chowards that is violet flavored. It tastes like a mix of soap, perfume and sugar.

Perhaps the most disgusting of all…Lifesavers in Australia are made in a musk flavor (yes, the cologne!)
