Belarussian UFO?

Belarussian UFO

EnglishRussia.com – (one of my favorite sites, btw) – just posted a video of what is supposedly an UFO taken in Belarus. I don’t think that this is the final proof we’ve all been waiting for, but it is interesting nevertheless. Link to EnglishRussia.com.

Anyone with a camera and some aftereffects/motion-tracking skills can do that. :(

Same as all the other old "ufo" films: its a hot air balloon made from a garbage bag and some heat source/light --probably a sterno can.

Zooming in with the lens at a fixed focus makes the diamond shape. Not a new or innovative concept, tsovarich!!

Kids used to make these in the '60s and '70s all over the Midwest...

It would be overkill using special effects to pull that off. It's really much simpler.

Was there some point of light in the sky... likely... but that doesn't mean much.

The effect you see when the camera is zoomed in is the effect that almost any camcorder (with digital zoom) will give you when zooming all the way in on a very distant point of light in the sky.

Once the camera enters into digital zoom (after exhausting the optical zoom) it can give you very misleading results on distant objects. Try it sometime with a very distant airplane (in which you can only see a smll light with the naked eye) and zoom all the way in with your (digital zoom equiped) camcorder.

You'll get similar results... sometimes even cooler!
