I would buy this bed in a heartbeat if I had the money. Kids are only little for a short time and I would love to spoil the hell out of my granddaughter. I think I would would sleep in it when she wasn’t around. haha

I do think its a bit impractical, however, if someone can afford this bed and wants it let them buy it! Why does everyone care so much what other people spend their money on?! Live within your means and worry about yourself! People that make amazing money work for it or are really smart! Shouldn’t they be allowed to purchase anything they want with the money they’ve earned? You don’t have people following you around criticising you for buying abercrombie over wet seal?? People in third world countries are lucky to see a few dollars a year! To them we are all rolling in it! Its all relative! The point is that we all forget to be thankful for the things we DO and are ABLE to have!

I don’t understand why people spend so much money on their kids. It’s just foreign to me. My daughter is only a year and a half and has fallen in love with Cinderella (or, “Rella”). However, I cannot afford this kind of nonsensical luxury. As it is, she has most of my toys from when I was a kid and seems happy with that. I found the VHS version of Cinderella on Craigslist and it works just fine for $3. She loves it. The only realy money I’ve spent so far is a regular wooden toddler bed that I hand-painted with Cinderella and the other characters from the movie. Tedious? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. She loves it and will learn how to appreciate the hard work that goes into having things like that. She’ll also know that material stuff doesn’t matter in life. She’ll know that as long as she is loved and can love in return, life is good and all is well in the world. These expensive things are just that, expensive, in more ways that just the price tag. Stop spoiling your children. Let them learn how to EARN things. Trust me, they’ll be happy with a Cinderella blanket. $12 at Walmart. Grab ‘em up.

my daughter loves this. It is very roomy inside. She loves the staires to get up to the bed night, but I do worry she will fall down them one dark night. luckily that hasn’t happened yet. she made me buy new cinderella pajamas to go along with her brand-new bed, but hey, whats another $20? i highly suggest buying this bed. it may be a little expensive, but my daughter loves it and im sure yours will, too.

There are people who are so rich that $47,000 is like 4 dollars and 70 cents.
They don’t need to look at the price.., and the little girls that sleep in them are
stuck up little bitches that will never have to work and have there toe nails clipped
every day by someone who only gets minimum wage.. (If you are a person) who
can afford this thing, and treat every low wage earner around you like dirt..

i think this is a great alternative than giving your child a bedroom. Just mark off a section of the living room, and park that beautiful thing right in the corner. But hey – i am only 24, so what do i know.

i do know that i would rather have 47, 000 in my pocket right now, than have had the coolest bed in my elementary school class.

True, there is a saying that goes “if you have to ask, you can’t afford”. But you would be suprised to find out that its more like “poor people won’t ask the price because they’re afraid to be judged”.

I always ask prices. I couldn’t care less what some retail worker thinks of me. They’re getting minimum wage anyway, and couldn’t afford 90% of what they’re selling.

I believe in wise investments. I always will, no matter how much I have.

Eyeballing the raw materials of this coach and estimating labor + a fair tip, I could find someone who could make it for about 7-10k. Maybe less. Sure, it might not be AS nice. There is a certain artisan touch to it thats hard to replicate. But it remains what it is. A childs BED.
It is by no means worth $45,000 I see nothing on it, that looks particularly expensive, or hard to replicate. (A car on the otherhand, is hard to replicate without a factory).
Pretty sure theres some craftsmen out there who would jump at such an oppertunity if I waved the money at them.

Denita – We just had one of our cars (a 98 Saturn) appraised at $800, so you could probably buy a fleet of 58+ quality cars if you were so inclined.

They charge that much because they can. If it sells, it means people find enough value in the good. Eco101.

Your average car probably hosts $6,000 to $10,000 worth of raw iron, aluminium, plastic and glass, yet, that same amount of raw material can be transfomed into a $17,000 Chevy Malibu or $65,000 BMW M5.

The price of a good is not related to the cost of its material or fabrication.

“Wonder how they justify THAT price”? You said it yourself: skilled craftspeople. Plus a skilled designer, fine materials, and the fact that it isn’t from IKEA and you aren’t putting it together yourself.
