“How Japan Sees America” Map.

"How Japan Sees America" is a map that comes with a Sega Saturn RPG "Tengai Makyou: Daishi no Mokushiroku (The 4th Apocalypse)," scanned and annotated by Andrew Vestal of Yukihime.

This map is basically what would happen if you got a bunch of Japanese guys in a room, got them drunk, and then asked them to draw what they could remember about America on a bar napkin. Hell, that’s probably how this game was originally designed. Anyhow, I feel the map speaks for itself.

Funny, but just consider what a map of Japan drawn by the average American would look like? A lot less accurate, and nowhere near as funny. Who’s laughing at who here?

Heh. A little out of date, now, I imagine. I doubt you could get three Japanese guys in a bar that wouldn’t include Dice-K-chusetts in all its red-knit footwear glory.

Although one thing they got right is that they completely forgot about Canada (but not Mexico!). Basically like any U.S. map available :)

Far better than the typical modern American schoolchild could do.
