yes they did. but didn't they required 3 leaf blowers to get jayme off the ground?

Ive never trusted mythbusters, especially since they've had episodes where they go back and prove themselves wrong. A kid in my 6th grade science class did this for a project

quinnn, as far as I remember they got proof of concept with only one leafblower on a construction very similar to the one in the video. Then they did however make two hovercrafts, Adam made a big one powered by three leafblowers (which also had to lift his rather heavy construction) and Jamie a smaller surfboard one powered by two leafblowers (one for lift, one for travel).

I've been on one of those things a summer ago while volunteering for a summer camp haha. The heavier the sitter, the more leaf blowers required.

It technically doesn't hover since it touches the ground at times but its difficult to have a perfect distribution of the weight.

The inventor reminds me of Emmet Brown.

Nice blog. I made a simple hovercraft for my 4 year old son this weekend with plywood a leaf blower and shower curtain. He learned about air pressure. Cool stuff! We found a fun site with neat science experiments like simple hovercraft directions. I will put the link below for anyone interested.
