Placed on each measured mile around the District of Columbia in 1791 and 1792, the Boundary Stones of Washington are our oldest federal monuments. They had to put it in a cage, most of the other have escaped, probably to more clement southern weather! Ungrateful stones! What do you expect, they are stones!
