The only way to understand any video rendition of "2001: A Space Odyssey" is to read the book first over and over until you fully comprehend the book. The only way to comprehend the book fully is to study all of the technical and scientific subjects covered in the book until you fully comprehend those subjects. The only way to fully comprehend those subjects is to have been born in the late 50's with at least "superior" intelligence and having grown up with an insatiable "NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING" and the resources to satiate that need. Otherwise, the movie was incomprehensible. Once you fully understand the book, the movie seems extraordinarily stupid...this video is much better. The original music was nice though.
