Does the book actually say Microsoft’s headquarters is in Richmond, WA? That’s some good fact-checking there, Lou.

Every April 1st, ThinkGeek.com posts some phony products. One of the fake products they posted this year was the 8-bit necktie. It got such a strong response, they’re working on making it real!

I’m sure it’s my “word-po” James Schend, not Alex Boese’s fault. I’ve fixed to Redmond, WA, now.

What about the Moeller AirCar? That ought to fit in pretty well under the Fake Product category I’d think, as he’s been taking investors’ money for decades and has yet to build a working prototype. True, he’s got a couple of machines off the ground, but nothing living up to his hype.

Just what I was going to say… I’ve been ticked by the gushing articles on Moller’s aircar in Popular Science and the like since the ’70s. Why the SEC or some state or investors haven’t strung him up is beyond me…

You’ll find that even though Windows Vista shipped, it’s a dressed-up XP and offers none of the promised features of Longhorn, which is still yet to ship: http://www.roughlydrafted.com/RD/Q4.06/4E2A8848-5738-45B1-A659-AD74738 99D7D.html

I had a customer come into the computer store I used to work at and she was adamant that she wanted the book in the picture her friend had sent her. She went on to say that it was “The book to make beginners computer experts” I tried to explain to her it was a fake and it didn’t exist, but she got mad at me and told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. So I sent her to the bookstore down the road…
The book in the picture was “Monkey Spanking for Dummies”
if you google it you can find the photo.
