Giant African Snail.

This looks like it should be in a 50s sci-fi movie about nuclear mutants, but no. It’s a Giant African Snail, which can grow up to 12 inches long! They are illegal in the US, due to their invasive habits. Push play or go to YouTube. -via Say No To Crack

There’s like a bazillion different species of giant African snails. One has the Latin name of Achatina immaculata. Makes me shiver just to imagine how it got that name.

Egads! You can imagine the snail eating connoiseurs are right now salivating into their respective porcelain buckets.

Me…I can imagine that baby being used as an organic doorstop.

I wonder how long it will take that guy to scrub all the snail slime off his arm.

According to the linked article, they cause crop damage, upset local food cahins, and carry harmful parasites.

We have big slugs here in BC (not that big tho) and they acually eat your dead skin if you let them crawl on you. Anyways, I found that quite disgusting as I am sure this one would hurt if it tried to take a nibble/scrape of you. EW!
