Inventor Robin Hamilton has designed a three-story rotating house that will generate more electricity than it uses. The house will follow the sun in order to collect the maximum amount of solar energy, and will use wind energy in addition. Hamilton hopes to have the home finished and functional in two years. Instead of rotating the entire house I'd think that rotating the solar collectors to follow the sun would be more efficient.
And perhaps a lightweight wall covering could follow the sun in the summer for cooling (doing the opposite in the winter) as well.

And what if the door ends up in front of a bush? Do the bush around the house rotate as well?

Yeah, why don't you rotate the solar panels, instead of the whole house! How much energy do you waste when you move your house back and forth.
Make outside walls round and glass, so you can get solar heat in winter.
Use awnings on hot summer days.
