The first X-ray photograph ever is still existant! Taken by Wilhelm Konrad Roentgen in 1896, it shows the inner structure of his wife’s hand. Link -via Reddit

She and her bright husband died of over exposure to X-Rays.

I hate to be a stickler but…….being a radiology resident I had to speak up. The famous first x-ray taken by Rontgen (proper spelling with umlaut over the “o”) was not of his wifes hand but rather Albert von Kölliker’s hand, a colleague of his. The story of his wifes hand and wedding ring makes a good story though!

P.S. I still love you neatorama!
