According to The Sun, scientists have determined the precise formula for the perfect bacon sandwich. The research was done at Leeds university, where four scientists spent 1,000 hours testing over 700 varieties of bacon sandwiches. What a job.

The Formula

N = C + {fb(cm) . fb(tc)} + fb(Ts) + fc . ta

N = force in Newtons required to break the cooked bacon.
fb = function of the bacon type.
fc = function of the condiment/filling effect.
Ts = serving temperature.
tc = cooking time.
ta = time or duration of application of condiment/filling.
cm = cooking method.
C = Newtons required to break uncooked bacon.

    it's impossible to make the perfect bacon sandwich, see this TEDtalk - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIiAAhUeR6Y

    I'm usually not a big bacon fan, but I can never say no to dark crispy American bacon. Yum.

    This is exactly why research grants get turned down.
