Praying Mantis Ice Sculpture.

Ice sculptors Junichi Nakamura and Peter Slavin created this awesome ice sculpture of a praying mantis out of a single block of ice for the World Ice Championships in Fairbanks, Alaska. Link – via A Welsh View

    Sweet jumping Montezuma on a flaming trampoline! The DETIAIL! I keep having to look at the background to make sure this isn’t someone’s idea of a photoshopping joke. I’m totally stunned!

    I wish there was some way to preserve this. It’s BEAUTIFUL!

    Fairbanks in the winter is fine. but if you want it to last you will need a deep freeze

    this sculpture is unblelevable and awsomely crazyfied. mantis are my favorite insectct and this just makes them even better than ever. the best i could ever do is to draw this, i am not much of a sclupter.

    My wife and I just returned from the Ice Carving Festival. The Mantis was my personal favorite and it is even more impressive in person.
