I just put a can in an icechest and spin it myself for about a minute. Bottle work too. Then to decrease the fizz on a can, just tap the top of the can about five or six times before opening.

my mom got one of these around 15 years ago-- I think i used it the most until it got pitched. It worked ok-- but it was more a waste of space-- works just as effectively as leaving the can in the freezer for 5 minutes, if I recall correctly.

I always "roll my own". I heard about this device some years ago, and now I use my fingers to "tickle" a can into rolling on its long axis in a bed of ice water.

Or you could just pour your drink into an ice filled cup... well for a soda anyways.

wtm - apparently, at least according to the manufacturer, the can is spun slowly enough that it doesn't foam or explode. I'm half tempted to buy one, or maybe I'll just take the cheap route and use a bucket like Alex suggests.

Ummm, if the can of soda is spun rapidly, wouldn't it foam all over whoever opens it???

I had one of those 15 years ago. Not bad if you don't mind using 2AA batteries for every can you cool :|

I am personally a fan of icewater soak to cool a can quickly.

Or you can soak it in a solution of ice water and salt, if a bucket of liquid nitrogen is not handily available! Of course you'll have to fish it out carefully...
