Plane Sculpture

In late 60s, Rudolph de Harak designed and the sculptor William Tarr built a 1:1 scale Sopwith plane complete with its runway on top of a building to tease the neighboring buildings’ inhabitants.

The title of the post “Who knew?” reminds me of Turk 182: Link

    Photos are not from google earth. look that they're rounding...

    Yeah, found it!
    Just type 40°42'16.23"N, 74° 0'29.85"W in Google Earth and you'll see it ;)

    This was easily visible to visitors to the World Trade tower's observation deck, before Sept. 11th. I remember seeing this in March 2001. This building seemed quite close from that vantage point. I'm glad to see it survived okay.
