Ronald Mallett [wiki], a professor of physics at the University of Connecticut, is developing to create the world’s first time machine (well, at least for subatomic particles).

In this interview with This American Life, Mallett described that as a child, he resolved to create a time machine to travel back in time and save his father who died when he was just 10 years old.
