Some are also white with red hoods and others, I think, all in black. They carry chains and ropes and crosses. I think it's the Good Friday procession called Processione del Cristo Morto, but I'm not sure. Maybe the hoods are also used in other rituals. I remember seeing a documentary about it once. Some sort of Mono film I think, showing it off as something very bizarre. Which of course it is.
