Giant Klan Sculpture in Venice.

This giant 75-foot (23 m) tall Klan sculpture in Venice, called "Ceremonial Crying System PV" (2005) was made by Sislej Xhafa. http://www.magazzinoartemoderna.com/italian_gallery/artists/xhafa/b_xhafa_en.html# - via WMMNA

the same costume was used during the Spanish inquisition; given that this is a sculpture in Italy, it's likely that this is a reference to that... anyone know?

Well, staying in Italy (as in Venice) and not Spain here, they do have processions there with with hooded, all in white men. Some are also white with red hoods and others, I think, all in black. They carry chains and ropes and crosses.

I think it's the Good Friday procession called Processione del Cristo Morto, but I'm not sure. Maybe the hoods are also used in other rituals. I remember seeing a documentary about it once. Some sort of Mono film I think, showing it off as something very bizarre. Which of course it is.
