    Its interesting about the phrase Gung Hay Fat Choy because my Chinese friends say Gong Xi Fa Cai.

    I had considered both spellings, and went with the one a non-Chinese speaker would more likely try to pronounce. Someone who speaks Chinese would recognize the attempt!

    Gung Hay Fat Choy is cantonese, Gong Xi Fa Cai is mandarin. Both means Happy New Year!

    Ah! Leave it to me to say Chinese-speaker when there are two Chinese languages (hits head). My daughter is studying Mandarin.

    I thought there were hundreds of dialects.

    Lady on the news today made the last word sound like Tai.
