The Gorilla Boogers.

Gorilla boogers are a Japanese snack. They’re actually just a bunch of raisin-like black beans, I think, but they’re marketed as those funk-nasty snot rockets that caged gorillas like to shoot at spectators at the zoo.

As seen on Tokyomango.

They had these for sale at the Chiba (east of Tokyo) zoo and the Yokohama Zoo. Both times that I was at the Yokohama Zoo, they were nearly sold out, and I watched a group of schoolchildren buy the last few bags. I had one myself but wound up eating them myself on the train home... not too bad, for boogers.

I don't care HOW good they might be...I just couldn't bring myself to eat them. Not with that name! *urp!*
