With great designers like so_me and parra, it was pretty tricky to pick a particular shirt as my favorite. But from what I could see, the Element of Grime design by Its our Thing was the best.

http://www.beamst.com/cgi/item_detail.php3?qId=75-04-1987-423&qLang=en#

A lot of designers these days are jumping back to the eighties with simple geometric patterns and design, as well as kitschy, cartoony illustration. This shirt takes both qualities, and adding an occultish, esoteric veneer makes the shirt absolutely awesome.

Not only a great shirt for its hip uniqueness, but its definitely one people might stop and ask you about.

Like a couple others, I too favor Hi-dutch's The Marine Goddess. It's so intricately detailed! I keep staring at it (if only there were a largely picture...oh well). The Goddess herself is like a more whimsical Venus, redone in a modern pop/indie style from Botticelli's work. Very fabulous.

Tree leakage day's "Il Ichigo Sugawara" is beautiful work.

Simplistic, sophisticated, and a wearable work of art, TLD elevates the aesthetic of t-shirt design with this excellent design.

STORMFRONT by MASK, can be interpreted in many ways, but to me it is very apropos for what is happening world-wide today. The T gives a visual history of the cognocenti and the rising storm...

We must all be more informed...more aware and more pro-active.

I like art that makes me think!

I would be honored to have a copy of this book in my Art Book Collection. It is for sure, one of the nicest presentations I've seen on T-shirt art.

I agree with a previous post...would like to see more of the shirts..and larger.
Thanx.

I liked ChoChan's "Diving". The rotund ladies are great! I can only imagine that the artist keeps corpulent women close to his heart, and rightly so. They have a lot of love to give! I also love the bright colors of the design, but that the artist only used those 2 colors to bring the point accross. Over all, one of my favorites if not THE favorite on the site.

My favorite is the "Monkey" design by Illustrated people. Ofcourse the first thing I see when I look at it is the monkey(hence the name) but there is so much more going on that it almost makes you want to look harder to see what you can find. The design has amazing color that it blends really well into the dark side on the right. But I think all the images that make the background make it as good as it is.

My favorite is "Son of a bitch" by Rockwell, mostly because it looks like it could be the end result of Theodor Seuss Geisel's simultaneous descent into madness / descent into t-shirt design / failing marriage.

I have always liked Sniffer's Row by WestBeachGirl over on Threadless. Just a line of silhouetted dogs doing what dogs do. It had been out of print for the longest time, but it appears they have recently re-released it due to popular demand.

I can't believe no one else has chosen the lovely "Pika Pika" shirt by Marcus James. I love detailed illustrations on T-shirts...who wouldn't want artwork you can wear? This one certainly qualifies, with a wonderfully feminine scene on a unisex tee.

I am digging TW2NTYF4URSE7EN's designs but am falling in love with the WANTED Venom t-shirt by loosejoints.

looking through the comments, RunRunRun Dongoolines is a bunch of awesomeness also. And The Marine Goddess would make for an awesome start to an inspired tattoo...

KAMON design / Namaiki is intriguing. I wish it were a bit easier to navigate the website. I keep feeling like I am missing something great.

RunRunRun Dongoolines by Kiki Miki Hitomi is one of the most original shirts I've seen. When I first saw the front, it seemed like just a neat shirt. But the back makes a statement by showing how deforestation hurts not just us, but the little apple people too. It's one of those shirts that makes people think (and look) twice.

I like them all. These arty shirts can be pretty expensive for a poor person like me, so I'm hoping you will send me the book; I love the idea that it comes with a cd of designs to print and iron on your own shirt. I have made several iron on shirts with amusing jpegs I took off the net over the years. I got excited about it, after they came out with the transfer paper that works on dark colors. What an improvement over the earlier material. They wash well too (inside out, cold, gentle cycle)

After some searching around, I still find myself favoring the Marine Goddess shirt by hi-dutch, even though it's right there on the first row of the first page. It is nicely detailed and I find it comforting to gaze upon (sort of wish there was a larger pic though). I may have to look into speading the beauty of the Marine Goddess to those around me. Plus, as girly as this sounds, sometimes I just can't help but love pink!

Alas, my favorite design, Leopard by Kiyoshi Kuroda, cannot be imported to the United States. It is a breathtaking depiction of the true beauty of women--strong, resilient, yet soft and lovely. A design that goes straight to the heart.

Wow, lots of fresh ideas and unique designs! After looking at dozens of them, I saw one which struck a chord more than the others. It's called Hidariuma, by OughtManeuver. This shirt stands apart because the design is more subtle and it's placed on the edge of the shirt. It's not in your face on the front, but still catches your eye because it is elegant and graceful. When I read the artist's statement about the grandfather, it sealed the deal for me. What a great tribute. Plus, I think art is therapeutic so I hope that the process was a beneficial coping mechanism for the artist. Beautiful work!

My favorites are "Enlightenment" - though I've lost track of the artist at the moment, and "Love Wife Face" by Tsuyoshi Hirooka. I love the first, because it's just plain beautiful, with its colors, and fascinating, creepy, and smart, all at the same time. The second, I find irresistible because, well, it's just so incredibly, stylistically DIRTY. It completeley rocks.

After sifting through so many of them I still like my immediate first choice best: the "Flowers" design by "tw2ntyf4urse7en" featured in the video and on this post. Simple, one-color iconic images that come together to form something else... The sum is greater than combining each individual part! Since it is single color with bold heavy shapes and lines it would make a beautiful tattoo!

Natural Tempo has only one selection, World Peace, which seems to be a response to the LOVE graphic comprised of various weapons. For that reason alone, I respect this design, even if most people may find it a bit too cliche. I like a shirt that says something. Design is great and all, I suppose, for design's sake, but for my personal fashion, I prefer to make a statement while making a statement.

My favorite is definitely "Construction" by Yoko Kawamoto. Not only is the all-over photo realism visually striking, but the subject matter reminds me of growing up with my grandfather. He works in construction, and I have since moved away.

It's so cool that work by a Japanese artist can connect with my own California childhood.

I like the 'Kevin' t-shirt by French artist SO_ME because it's got humor and it's visually fun.

My favorite design is “Idiot” by Spectator x BEAMS T. I think it will completely throw off people with the “I’m with Idiot” shirts, because then they will only be pointing out the obvious.

P.S. I got overexcited on the topic of t-shirt designs and I didn’t read the rules clearly. Please help me delete my first comment, sorry, Alex.

Anyone who pays attention to the t-shirts online knows this one. As I walk on campus while wearing this shirt many friends will come up to me and ask, “You shop at Threadless also?!” Pandamonium by Ross Zietz is one of the most popular designs at Threadless, and it is a must-have for panda lovers:
http://www.threadless.com/product/178/Pandamonium

Here is their full catalog: http://www.threadless.com/catalog
The designs at Threadless are classy, beautiful, and sometimes funny. It is a rare combination for t-shirt designs found online.

I am sorry if I sound like I work for Threadless, but I just love their t-shirts that much. I suggest you wait till the holidays when they have a big sale on everything for $10. Just hope that they didn’t retire your favorite design by then.

I like the Paprika shirt by Paprika both for the colorful design and the white printing on the back of a white shirt. It's a very subtle addition that really sets the shirt apart.
