Wendy Japan's Red Bean Burger

Asian red bean anything = not tasty.

I am amazed. When I went to Hawaii with my wife and in-laws we visited the famous shaved ice shop (Matsumoto's Shave Ice). "Order the Li Hing Mui flavor with Ice Cream and Beans. Trust me. It's a vaguely plum flavored red syrup, but the real treat is the scoop each of vanilla ice cream and sweet Japanese beans that go into the cup first! It's a wonderful combination of fruity, creamy, and sweet."

Really not spamming. I'm just sharing a personal experience that I was honestly amazed at how tasty those beans can be.

This couldn't possibly be like Chinese bean paste, which is sugary and used like jam -could it?

If it's jam-like, then I guess we can call it 'The Jamburger' (not Hamburger) !

Oh yeah. I'm from Hawaii, I know exactly what Carl is talking about. That bean paste is called azuki beans (at least thats what we call it here). But I can't really imagine this in a hamburger. Maybe if the bun was sweet, like an anpan, but that sure looks like cheese and mayonnaise to me...I don't know about that.

Can't imagine the red bean burger being too bad! Over here in Hong Kong McDonalds come out with a bunch of wacky stuff too. At the moment we have Curry Pork Fillet Burgers and a range called Fan-Tastic. 'Fan' is Cantonese for Rice and the burger buns are made from some bizarre looking compressed rice concoction. The photographs leave a lot to be desired and it looks more like a chicken burger rammed between two Rice-Krispy Cakes than a burger.
