And yet, no matter how much you avoid second hand smoke, how many tofu burgers you eat, and no matter how many times you chide someone for smoking, we all still have to die. No…matter…what…you…do.

That’s true. Also, why can’t we kill people? They die anyway. Who cares if it’s faster?

    Duh.

First of all, lots of people think it’s perfectly fine to kill other people. The Death Penalty, The President, or the Holocaust are all answers to ‘why can’t we kill people’. The answer being, you most certainly can. You’ll just go to jail.

And as for the speed which people meet their end, I suppose that’s personal. Last time I checked getting old was something everyone in America still lived in utter denial about.

    Duh.

This article made me want to have a smoke. I’ll probably sue Neatorama once I get lung cancer.

Was the point of the article to chide smokers? I found it merely informative, historically. [In the meantime, everyone is surely free to die at their speed of choice. If you are looking for something quick and pleasurable, let me suggest skydiving sans parachute. Faster, cheaper, not too mention less suffering in the end.] This was a great article!

The pope in 1624 was Urban VIII (Barberini), not Urban VII.
