Dora Gun.

By Alex in Pictures, Weapons & War on Jan 2, 2007 at 9:05 pm

Dora Gun was manufactured by the German company Krupp for the third Reich during World War II. Hitler had wanted a gun "able to pierce a meter of steel, seven meters of concrete, or thirty meters of dense earth": LinkThanks Sammy and gahsoon!

There’s also the V3, another large nazi cannon. While the bore was ‘only’ 15cm/6in it was 150m long, compared to the 36m of dora. It was designed to fire on london from it’s position deep in a bunker in france.

At 1972 I seen and touched brass Dora shells on one of Soviet weapen ammunition depot in Germany Democratishe Republik. It served as fire-vat with water near the hangar doors.
