That some cheap coke I might add ... I bet someone cut it with baby powder or baking soda.

That was before it became a "controlled substance." I've even seen ads for cocaine tooth drops for kids.

I'm just havin fun .. I know it was an ad probably based around the early 1900s. I've also seen cocaine tooth drops ... oh how they numb the gums, hahaha.

You inspired me to put up my cocaine toothache remedy ad.

Cure for dandruff, I'm sure! Lose all your hair and dandruff goes away. Worst case, a few drops of this and you forget all about your dandruff.

Notice that it says "cocoaine," not "cocaine." This was because cocaine was very popular during this period as a medicinal cure-all. Burnett's actually used coconut oil, not cocaine, but gave it a similar name as to trick shoppers into buying it.

That's fascinating Lester. I wondered about the spelling. Do you have a source for that? Is it online? (The subject really interests me)

This just proves that cocaine's a helluva drug.

You can read about it here:

Scroll down to where it talks about Burnett's Cocoaine. Glad you found it interesting!
