Pinetop Perkins with Seventh Hour Blues editor and publisher, Anthony Sapienza:
For the December issue of Seventh Hour Blues, Sapienza spent twenty- four hours with the 93 year-old blues legend. Perkins, who once worked on a plantation for fifty cents a day, rose to fame as one of the legendary blues piano players of his time — playing with such greats as Honeyboy Edwards, Robert Lockwood Jr., Sonnyboy Williamson and most notably, the great Muddy Waters. Here, Pinetop and Sapienza perform an impromptu version of Pinetop’s hit song, “Kansas City”.
