The audio tape nostalgia

The definitive collection of audio tapes on the net.

Go and remember those not so far away times -as some of us still use them- when every song sounded blurry after the first week of use...

Not if you used the right tapes. I have some tapes that I recorded from LP's in the early 80's, and they still sound decent. Not as good as they once did, but not bad either.

Back in the day, a good stereo shop would have a piece of testing equipment that would test the frequency response of a given tape in a given deck. When you bought a deck they'd run different grades & brands of tapes through a tape deck & give you a printed graph of each. I think I still have some graphs from my old Pioneer CTF-750; it was the Maxell chrome tapes that worked best for me.
