French Newspaper Pwned by Fake iPhone.

Thinking they got the scoop, a French newspaper called "20 Minutes" published a full photo of a new Apple product called iPhone that they said Apple would announce that day.

Oops, turns out the thing was only a mockup created by design firm MDI Digital!

anyway, fake or not, french medias did more funny : a xbox fansite wrote a prank news about 100 japanese kids suicides by swallowing silicon bags... a serious newspaper ('libération' i think but i'm not sure) backed up and they were followed by major tv-news who talked about that on their night editions :)

Fake, the iPhone ? Only the photo I presume ... Because a lot of people seems to disagree with you regarding the "fake" ..

See :

iPhone could be issued on January '07.

And let's mention that 20 minutes is a free paper, which doesn't exactly massively invest in long, detailed, and hard - facts investigative reports...

This was in my parisian edition (at least).
But the newspaper didn't affirmed that this was the future iPhone ! It has only use this fake to illustrate his article about the apple expo. The newspaper has made a mistake about the license, written "Apple", but has rectified it in his next edition.
