Poodles are much more viscious than Dobermans, especially with children.

Wow! That poor Doberman! I have a standard poodle and he doesn’t even get cut like that! I think he would bite me if he got that aweful cut.
Poodles are not more viscious if they are trained. Poodles are great with children. Mine sits automaticaly when a small child comes in the room. I think no matter what breed, how they interact with people is all in the training.

Agreed a. BOB is Ignorant and you should realize BOb that Pitt bulls Doberman and Rotweilers are only filthy animals if the owners raise them this way. All dogs are the same. You are seriously uneducated about dogs. Dobermans are sweet hearts, so are pitbulls and boxers. I know I have one of each.

Bob, you have NO clue about Dobermans. I have one and she is a big baby. When ever the kids are around she can’t get enough of them. If one starts to cry she comes to me and looks at me “Mom, do something”. I wouldn’t trade her for nothing. Maybe you should be banned Bob!!

There is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners. And that goes for all breeds, from a chihuahua to a doberman. A dog that is trained to attack other dogs or people that the owner sics it on, does not know its doing something wrong. It has been rewarded by the owner to do that stuff, so it just trying to please the owner. And people think that these breeds will turn on their owners, and that is a possibility, only if the owner hasn’t trained or socialized the dog. These “dangerous, visious” breeds do just as well in a family as any other “gentler” breed. People are just biased towards them, from what they’ve heard.

I’m a trainer. I’ve been biten by three dogs 2 German Shepards and a mini-dachshund as the bites from the Shepards hurt very badly and left some good marks the mini-doxie was the only one to break the skin. In my years of experience the small breeds are more likely to bite, reason being that most owners treat a small dog way differently than a large (you know like a baby). The large dogs that tend to bite are the ones left outside in the back yard all the time. So you see it ALL comes down to the owners the dogs just do as they are told or in most cases they the act because they have not been trained at all.

..are you joking? if someone has a problem with your Doberman, they clearly don’t know anything about dogs. dobermans are excellent dogs, and definitely should not be dressed like this..it’s a shame to see a beautiful dog wearing an ugly dog’s costume…as for bob’s comment..pitbulls are the best dogs out there. they are amazing when trained correctly, and it is a proven fact that labs are more likely to attack a person than pits. it’s people like you that should be banned from living because of your stupidity. and bob’s friend….grow up..what are you, 2?

Bob, in my lifetime I have raised and lived with
4 doberman, 1 pitbull, 2 rotweiler, 2 german shepard,
1 grey hound, 1 toy poodle, 1 malmute wolf cross,
and a few mixed breeds, now in my home I have 3 ‘chihuahua’ and let me tell you Bob, you need too
open up your brain a lot more, you are showing us
doberman lovers just how dumb you are, oh by the way bob, I’m even a woman and had all these girls and boys,
I’ve never been bitten or attacked they respect me and
I respect them, I’ll tell you though I have more trouble with my three year old youngest chihuahua
who I started bottle feeding at 4 days old. I agree
with the person above who said we do this too ourselves
by treatng these little guys like babies.
I just want to tell you BOB it is how you raise, handle
and socialize. in memory of
dobermans Nastasha

Dogs only bite someone stupid enough not to notice their signs of aggression and only proceed to annoy them even more, wheather it be trespassing on their territory, teasing, or posing a threat. This makes me angry, because once the dog has bitten them, they go and sue the owners, who, in turn, have to put the animal to sleep. In my opinion, the person that sued should have been put to sleep, not the innocent dog!
Pit bulls, dobermans, and rottweilers are wonderful animals, if socialized and trained at an early stage. Remember that these dogs were bred for hundreds of years through selection of the most vicious animals.Ignorant people, however, that lock them up in cages all their lives or shove them out to live in the backyard make them monsters; bringing out more and more of their “Bad Vicious Dog” behavior. And it isn’t just dobermans, pits, rottweilers, ect; you can find this in any dog, no matter if it is a Chihuahua or a German Shepherd. So-called “bully Breeds” just need a little extra training, because of their attack dog lineage. Ignorant, bias, stereotyping jerks like Bob only point at dogs that have been improperly raised by inexperianced owners and therefore add to the fear and shunning of “Bully Breeds”. -

The Picture sucks. Dobs are very sweet loyal and gentle if trained well. why need to disguise them?
Whoever made the idea of putting that ugly costume is sick! BTW Bob read some dog related books magazines etc.. to enhance your way of thinking. you are the dumbest creature i’ve ever known!Doberman Pinscher is intense and energetic with tremendous strength and stamina. Versatile, highly intelligent and very easy to train. Determined, fearless and assertive, but not vicious. Noble, loyal and affectionate with the family. It likes to be physically close to the family members. Devoted and watchful, this is a very people oriented breed. The Doberman needs an owner who is willing and able to discipline the dog without being afraid of him.

TOO FUNNY! I hope this is a joke. I grew up with dobies, love them to death, and I was crying laughing at this photo. I agree with the other folks. I have met some of the SWEETEST “vicious” rotts, pits and dobies and some of the nastiest little footballs with fur. Dobies are extremely loyal and protective of their families. Our dobie was protecting my brother when he was just days old and my grandmother was babysitting. I wouldn’t choose any other pure-bred to own. You just have to train them correctly and give them love, not abuse.

bOB,
we own a rott, a pitt, a mixed wolf huskie, and our next dog will be a dobie. These dogs all love our very young neices and nephews (ages 4 months to 13 years). they have never showed any sign of aggressiveness toward anything. you are ignorant. i hope you get mauled by a platypus. -

I’m glad we’re all in agreement about Bob…he’s an idiot. Glad you shared your uneducated, ignorant opinion with us Bob. Case in point, I see news reports about people shooting people all the time (more often than the biased one-sided reports about “vicious” dog bites), but I wouldn’t be stupid enough to suggest we ban or euthanize all people. Course, I’m clearly not as intelligent as Bob who must have had 100’s of dobermans, pit bulls, and rotweillers. How else could he declare such a concrete and well-supported statement? Oh yeah, back to the beggining of my post…Bob you are an f***ing idiot.

The poodle costume was in response to proposed legislation in Australia to outlaw “dangerous” breeds. As an apartment dweller, I’ve always had small breeds, but I would love to have a dobie a rottie or a GSD as soon as I move into a home with a yard. BTW, if not kept on a leash, my sweet little Yorkies would chase down any and every dog, regardless of size.

Bob you know nothing and should get a life. My wonderful fantastic doberman “Strider” loves to chase bubbles and is very scared by little fluffy white dogs. Dobies rock and you are a loser.

WOW! It is so nice to know that people feel the same way as me!!! Im am constantly preeching that there is no such thing as a bad dog, just a bad owner… when will retards like Bob realize this fact!!! I live in Missouri and am shocked at how many counties ban bully breeds!!! Who gets to make up these dumb laws and what the hell happened to them as children!!! I bet if they actually owned a pit they would drop the bans in a second!! In conclusion some people just really suck and are ruining these great breeds for the rest of us!

Thanks everyone who has proved “Bob” wrong. I was once also a Doberman owner and out of all the dogs I had he was probably the sweetest and gentle out of them. Unfortunately he died a couple of months ago from cancer. We adopted him from a shelter and he had been abused since he was born but once we cared for him he was amazing! It is the owners that make a dog bad and aggressive. It is how you treat them and the kind of attitude you have towards them!

To all you folks who feel like insulting poodles is any better than insulting the “vicious” breeds, I have this to say: Poodles also are the victims of dog stereotyping, although in a opposite direction as the stereotypes brought down upon dobies, pitts and rotties. Poodles are NOT sissies; they are canine athletes, bred for work. The show clip seen in the ring covers up a well-muscled body. I have had the pleasure of owning both a standard poodle and a doberman, and I will tell you the reason I find such beauty in these breeds is because they are similar: tall, elegant, graceful, with long limbs and a long muzzle. A poodle is, in fact, built quite similarly to the doberman, and, in my opinion, both are truly stunning dogs to watch. I understand the necessary backlash against breed profiling and BSL — and I am a strong advocate for responsible dog ownership rather than senseless breed bans — but remember that all breeds should be respected for what they are, not condemned for what they are not.

*claps for G-Dawg* Very true… if I get the chance to own two dogs at once I want a Dobie and Standard Poodle along side one another. In part to show by example that despite their very different public profiles they are still dogs and no different than one another in reality. Plus, they’re gorgeous next to one another.

Interesting photo, but I’d rather just change minds about the breed. Their image doesn’t do reality justice.

I suspect strongly that photo is photoshopped and in my opinion is hilarious! I also suspect Bob is (A) a victim of a dog attack or (B) tkaing the piss outta you big time! lmao!
My Dougal is a Collie-something crossed with a Lab. We don;t know what the “Something” is, but it’s often been said to me he looks like a Dobey. He’s an excellent gaurd dog too and frightens the crap outta everyone who rings my doorbell! lmao!
Is there a way of telling what breed he came from by looking at him?

Damn! many of you posters are getting all bent on Bob’s comments, He is obviously a Troll, looking to stir controversy. As for taking the photo seriously, it’s a joke, it’s funny, and great idea for a dog halloween costume contest. Dobermans are awesome and sweet dogs, and the perception I get from most people I meet is positive when it comes to dobermans. They can be protective, as can any dog not socialized (ever see a chihuahua kept as a purse or worse, in one). Dobermans just got a bad rep from being the popular “tough dog” in the late ’70s and early ’80s (Magnum PI, The Doberman Gang) as the Rottweiler did in the 90’s and the Pitbull has now, which often attract to wrong type of owners, who don’t have the time or understanding to train and work with a smart high energy dog.
