That thing is wierd and I want to know more about it. Whatever the hell it is, I've have seen one before in Shapleigh, Maine. A couple of years ago. I was with my friend and we were outside anywhere between 8:00 and 10:00 and we heard smoething in the woods. It came out and stood in the road about 50 feet from us and it had glowing eyes either greenish or redish. We ran inside and we thought it was chasing us, but we weren't sure. Go to Shapleigh, Maine sometime and walk the roads after dark aroun Mann road and you are almost gaurunteed to see it. It's scary as hell too. If Isee it while huting I'll shoot it.

Um, 'Tom', that's satirical, right? (The thing is, other reports of the supposed wolf-dog sound exactly like reports of Bigfoot. Which could explain Loren Coleman's presence.)

THAT is a werewolf. We have a good many of them in the Northwest, and I figured, with all of the people moving around the country for jobs and whatnot, eventually some infected man or woman would carry the infection to the East Coast. Here in Washington, we find that the Sasquatch keeps the werewolf population in check, but in Maine there are no Sasquatch. This could be a bad sign for the Northeast. In only a few weeks, scientists have found that a single infected curse-carrier can create as many as fifty new werewolves themselves, and each newly infected person can in turn create up to fifty more. The best hope is a long, harsh, cold winter.

I don't expect it to do that well in the woodlands, though, due to the territorial nature of the wood witches and other forest imps and such. And it shouldn't become a problem farther south than upstate New York, where we've seen the Jersey Devil has expanded its territory in the last decade or so.

Looks like a chow, full stop - it wasn't going to win any dog shows but it looks nothing like a wolf. Is it so hard to imagine a wild dog, rather than some mysterious hybrid?

I feel sorry for it...it looks like a chow/wolf hybrid. I heard there is a lot of wolf hybrid breeding in Maine.

And I guess people don't realize that all dogs' eyes glow in the dark at night, thanks to the tapetum lucidem. And this is doubled if someone is shining a light in the animal's face.
