Nothing unusual there at all, we’ve been able to buy battered burgers in Ireland for decades, they are as common as fish and chips!

I had something close to this in a Chip Shop in Scotland. I was trying to avoid eating one more batter dipped & fried food item and so I ordered a hamburger. The patty was – you guessed it – batter dipped & deep fried. Coronary-on-a-bun.

In Scotland everything is deep fried. Deep fried pizza is commonplace as are deep fried Mars Bars.
