Ford F650 Super Truck XUV.

If this looks a little extreme, that's because it is: you're looking at the F650 Super Truck XUV (Xtreme Utility Vehicle). Some even comes with 300HP Caterpillar with 900 lbs of torque. Starting price? $94,000.

While our mother earth is being depleated from its ozone, and us humans a gasping for breathing air, its nice to know that some schmucks out there are working on the most unsustainable, ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

Although there isn't the first scientic FACTS that global warming is real, I understal the fuel concerns. However, this has to be the biggest and badest truck I have EVER seen! Makes me want one. :)

Doug, where have you been living in the last 10 years? It is common knowledge in the scientific community that global walming IS happening, and that all facts are pointing to the earth walming and an increasing rate. The disputable fact is weather it is a human or natural cause. Most research these days is pointing to a mixture of both, so the earth would've risen in tempreture anyway, it just wouldn't have happened so fast if we hadn't invented monstrosities like this... thing. Aah well, only in America.

Btw Doug, please research all the facts before trying to make an educated comment, otherwise it just makes you look stupid.

Rob,
Most likely you have fallen in the the PC world of junk science. When you look at 10 years, you can only have a limited result. Look at 100 years or better yet, 500 years. Then, you will see the same pattern repeated over and over again. Don't be like a cult member Rob, learn the truth.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
Sorry Doug, you must've missed my wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Instrumental_Temperature_Record.png. Now that doesn't look like a repeated pattern to me, and better yet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:2000_Year_Temperature_Comparison.png, the tempreture pattern norms over the last 2000 years, see a pattern? because all I can see is a HUGE increase in the last 200 years. And if you want to go way back: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Carbon_Dioxide_400kyr-2.png that is a graph of the co2 readings from antartic ice cores going back 400 thousand years, notice the big peak? that's a mixture of natural and man made increases of co2, mainly coming from factories in the time since the industrial age. And a fact, indisputable to any scientist, is that co2 causes the greenhouse effect, which is the primary cause of global walming. If you'd like more information, check out the wikipedia article dedicated to the subject: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming. Just because america has only just woken up to the prospect of Global Walming doesn't mean that it's only just started happening. All this adds up to a unhappy future for us all, unfortunatly. Sea levels are rising (this is, of course, already happening, just check out the sinking island of Tuvalu: http://www.tuvaluislands.com/warming.htm), the summer months are becoming longer and walmer every year and Atlantic storms are increasing in size, speed and number (everyone remembers last year, right?).

Actually, I don't give a crap about the US political system, I don't live there, and I don't want to live over there, so don't lecture me on how great dubya is, and how anything the other party say is BS, because I don't base my views of life on what political leaders think, or religious rules/ideals otherwise I'd never learn anything. I just believe in SCINTIFIC EVIDENCE, and base my decisions on what I interprate those results to mean. And as you can see from the evidence I have provided, the world tempretures are rising at increasing rates, due to increases of CO2 in the atmosphere. That, you can not deny.

Anyway, I'm going to end it here as there is no point in going on, it seems that I can't convince you to open your eyes, and you are most certainly not going to weiver my beliefs in science.

Eh, I work on a fleet of trucks this big (except dump trucks). We run them on used veggi oil / biodiesel mixture. If it weren't for the vehicles' high GVW they'd meet California's requirements for a LEV and alternative fuel vehicle.

So quit yer bitchin'

Come on people, the best thing that could happen to this world is the end of humanity, so lets all buy a truck like that, so we can have fun wile ending our
existense a little faster

The truck is cool! You and I know if our goverment was not a smuck the truck would get 50mpg and be safe for mother earth. People need to understand that it is posable have v8 get good gas mpg! Look at how many patents the goverment already has on carburetors. It is not a sin to drive a big truck. The problem is how you look at it.

Global warming? Let's hope so!! Actually, if enough people could afford these, we could accelerate the melting of polar ice caps and hopefully we'll see the socialist state of new jersey under water in our lifetime.

Ok, this is not a V8. It is an inline 6 Cat C7. Cummins just announced its new models already meet 2010 emissins today. This has been achieved with the fuel systems and the new soot-stopping canisters; not to mention th recirculatory exhaust in place. The problem diesels always had was NOx and soot levels. . . unburned hydrocarbons is that black smoke you see in over-fueled engines or engines that have been heavily modified. New diesel engine have none of those old attributes. In fact the reason class 8 trucks have smoke stacks that are verticle is because it looked like they were on fire back in the 1930's because of the excessive unburned hydrocarbons. This problem was solved by verticle stacks so people in regular sutos would stop calling the fire department. This was happening in San Fran. The Supertruck is great for he application is was designed for.....moving weight (supplies, boats, material, people). Then it has a purpose. Large people mover transit buses are no different, though most are part electric (seattle) or CNG (compressed natural gas). See Westport engineering for more info on CNG.

screw you tree huggers, get a life and live alittle.Im sure no average person buys this kind of vehicle anyway, unless you want to tow HEAVY equipment, and remember heavy equipment clears land to build your hippy joints

Hey for all of you believing in Global warming, check the stats of who actually believes in this propaganda. The whole thing is not supported by the mass of the scientific community; reports are making way now to blow the whistle on the whole scam. Now on the other hand it is good to conserve, but the Gas mileage on that extreme F-650 beats the pants off of most of the large V-8 SUV's and half-tons out there on the market and like the people said, it is all set to be bio-diesel feed.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
way to go doug! first of all, if you're asking him for proof, how about you give us some real proof that global warming is happening..and i don't mean wikipedia. anyone can add anything to wikipedia so obviously it's a refutable source..NOT! and you know your nice lib al gore who's in charge of the energy in the U.S...yeah that lib..go talk to him and tell him to stop burning coal so we don't have "global warming". so yeah why don't all you libs get together and figure out you guys are the ones causing global warming because your own al gore is burning a mighty big hole in that ozone. watch out!

Politics and Science aside, this is a sweet a@# vehicle. It's perfect for hauling whatever you want to with as many people as you want to. Let's say Me and 11 friends want to go 4-wheelin'. Right now, we would have to take at least 3 vehicles w/ATVs in two, getting 10-15 mpg at best. We get a big enough trailer, and we could take just one truck. Tons of gas saved. Besides, how many of these things are they actually going to sell at 100 large. The only people I've seen with them so far have been Football and Basketball players. They need that big a vehicle to haul around their egos.

I find it very interesting how the image of a large, powerful (and absolutely sweet!!) machine generates such rhetoric about the environment and of course - Global Warming. I am happy to see though that we still have some intelligent ones out there that can appreciate the beauty of this machine and eloquently point out that big is not automatically equated with bad and evil. I was going to resist getting sucked in to the political garble but what the hey. I think it is so cute that a collective group of so called advanced mammals are so arrogant as to think that they can bring about mass climate changes. One massive volcano can release more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than years and years of industrial development. Let's sit back and think about this. The earth has experienced extreme climate changes and multiple mass extinctions cross millions of years - guess what - without humans!! She has come in and out of an ice age without - guess what - right without humans. As a species we will continue to evolve as well as the planet and at some point as has happened for millions of years the next major geological period will be defined with a major geoligical event and mass extinction. Folks start thinking for yourselves and stop worshiping this washed up political dope, flinging himself around the world in his "fancy flying carbon footprint" machine. Taking care of the environment is the right thing to do but an individuals choice. We should each acknowledge that we are a highly consuming mammal and should continue to find ways to improve how we consume. Understanding your carbon footprint is one way of accomplishing that. Take care of the planet because you live here and are a consumer of it not because some puesdo-scientific political movement twists data into blaming you for something that would have happened anyway.

this is the dumbest conversation i thought i would see when looking at an awsome trucks website. if you like the truck....great. if you are worried about the climate, why are you not looking a website for hybrid cars. or hell maybe even a bycicle.

They should rename this thing the Ford Testicles! I stood next to one at the gas station in Barstow...it was towing a trailer...when it started the ground shook! My nipples are still hard.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
It's amazing how much denial is still out there, in the 11th hour.

Instead of allowing your opinions to be determined by preconceived notions of what is or is not arrogant, how about learning some actual facts?

Humans add a net 3.2 BILLION TONS of CO2 into the atmosphere EVERY YEAR. That's AFTER the natural carbon sinks have absorbed as much as they can. 3.2 billion tons -- every year.

That's not enough to have an effect? Are you sure? Are you sure you know more about climate than the climate scientists do?

What's arrogant is to believe that we can do whatever we want, forever, without worrying about any consequences. What's arrogant is to disregard science just because we don't like what they're saying.

I apologize to those who believe we can keep on consuming as we wish. We can't. A global limit has been reached. Deal with it.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
The only things I concern myself with, are things we can control. Yes, the planet is warmer than it has been recently, but there have also been several ice ages, so it has also coolled several times. At least once, there was a violent reversing of the magnetic poles, and everything went haywire then too.

Every solar system, in time, will be destroyed by its sun. Funny how gravity works, you get closer to the sun over time.

What no one can answer is HOW MUCH of the warming is caused by humans.

If the earth huggers are truly concerned for the envronment, instead of bitching about this truck, they should first STOP BUYING NEW CARS AND MAINTAIN WHAT THEY HAVE. The aluminum plants to make the new vehicles are far worse. The fuel used to deliver the new vehicle to you is a tax on the ecosystem. The materials in the new vehicle are horrible for the environment during manufacture and after disposal.

I see Prius owners lead-footing their vehicle every day, I'm sure that wasn't figured into the advertised MPG either. Stop spending extra for a "Hybrid" that gets good gas mileage (the Geo Metro got 58 mpg back in 1990 on gas alone) while disposing of your older vehicle that is perfectly fine, or can be maintained at a fraction of the cost of a "new hybrid." What if you took the cost of a new hybrid and applied it to maintenance and fuel for your current vehicle?

I have 7 kids, I have a 15 pass van that costs less than a minivan or "crossover." It works for what we need in our lives, it gets great gas mileage for our requirements. At some point though, we need a towing vehicle for our business. I can either buy yet another vehicle, or I can buy the 6-door version of this truck instead, getting better mileage from it's diesel engine/transmission package. All the while, with an engine that can be maintained for at least 500,000 miles.

No, single car drivers don't need it, but some of us do. If the "environmentalists" complaining in this blog are truly concerned, then they must be driving low emissions vehicles that use very few resources to manufacture (like motorcycles), correct?

If you don't need this vehicle, then why did you end up at this page? Start with something you can have an effect on now, like getting municipalities to require a higher level of curbside recycling. My family recycles at least 2/3 of what ends up at the curb, meanwhile the childless families on the street drive hybrids and have several bags of trash next to their cans twice a week...but never ny recycling.

I assume that you are all using LED and Compact fluorescents in your homes, correct? I know that you use your old motor oil to heat your home instead of electricity or natural gas correct? You also make your own meals instead of buying boxed groceries that contain extra chemicals and packaging mined from the earth right?

Good job looking out for the rest of us.
