I have a fat cat named Blitzen. He is my baby. He is a orange male cat. It’s so funny because he’s got this huge body but he’s got these little paws. He weighs about 20 pounds. I love fat cats, but im am also very careful. I would rather have a average weight cat, then have a fat one with health problems. Blitzen makes it almost impossible to go on a diet. He’s fat AND throws up. If i dont keep his food bowl full, then when i do fill it he will eat to fast and get sick. I just dont know what to do.

That’s sad really!!! But those 2 red Maine Coons (Leo, #10, the Guinness’ longest cat, and Riley #13) are not fat cats!!! Maine Coons are BIG cats naturally and that’s different!!! They also have long fur and that makes them look fat!

these are some of the fattest cats i have ever seen in my entire life. But there are a few that ive seen that would fit right in with this website. One is my cat who weights almost 40 lbs. and another cat that is in a motel for cats that is probably 3 ft. tall when standing on its hid legs. Thats really big for a cat huh. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hi All;
I had my own little (little)? “Fat~Kitty” as my niece would call him… His name was Amos, and he had to be put to sleep last July. He was a whopper as an adult, and got sick about 2 years ago. He lost almost 75% of his weight after falling ill. But prior to having renal and lung problems, he was always active and fast; even with his massive body. Mice and birds did not stand a chance. Wish there was a place to include his picture on here…
I think, much like us humanoids, many cats are just prone to be ‘ahem’, larger, than others. He was neutered as a young cat. But his ‘uncle’ was not. They were both huge kittys! And are both now waiting for us at that “Rainbow Bridge”
When he was put to sleep, he was 13 years old. Not a bad life for a fat cat!

Please do not intentionally hurt a cat (or any animal) this way. That would be a terrible, (and an absolutely unforgiveable), cruelty imposed upon the poor cat.
Our cat was fat. We did nothing to encourage this, and even when he ‘dieted’ he would just catch more birds/mice to make up for those calories. This was his own genetic make~up, and to try to impose this on a cat whose DNA does not support this would be an absolute sin, and would only make the animal suffer needlessly. -

As the owner of a 26 lb. cat I will tell you that I have had him on a strict diet that was vet outlined for over a year. He has two lbs. I love my cat very much and have tried everything to help him loose weight.

Hehe… Do the haters bother reading? Leo and Riley aren’t fat. That’s why they got such a low ranking. Some of the rest aren’t particularly unhealthy either. Granted some are deceased due to their weight problems, but most of the rest aren’t. I don’t remember where but I saw recently this funny story about a fat cat who tried to eat the neighborhood squirrels whenever they came near him.

Those are so cool! I have three stray (but tame) cats that live in our backyard. On time I was holding the smallest and thinnest (shadow) and afterward I held my fav cat (oreo). Boy, compared to Shadow, Oreo was FAT, although not even close to these cats. Hehe

I have a fat cat myself, BUT, we take him to the vet regularly and he eats healthy dry food. He is about 30 pounds. We are not over feeding him, we don’t know why he is fat. (probably just slow metabolism) you people that say fat cat owners don’t love their cats, you should be ashamed. My cat is not overfed, “mutated” in any way, he is just a naturally fat cat. Yes, there may probably be some set-backs to his health & his lifespan, but we are giving him the best life we can! Too those that say we abuse our animals, think before you speak, please? I have a 17 year old cat, VERY healthy, and the right weight. As you can see, we have TWO skinny cats, 1 fatty. If we all had more than 1 cat, and they were all fat, MAYBE THEN you could assume something.
