Peteena Doll.

What is Peteena? From the website:

Technically, Peteena is a 9-inch, white, plastic doll that uncannily resembles a poodle. Peteena bears the shameful scars of her lowly, mass-manufactured origins in the legend "Hasbro 1966" imprinted on her butt (Hasbro, however, denies all knowledge of Peteena). Peteena wishes to stress to all you cyber-whatevers out there that she is not and never has been computer generated. Peteena has a very real (and very pampered) corporeal existence.

[...] As soon as I saw this post on Neatorama, I knew that I wouldn’t be able to forget about Peteena. What, you’re not familiar with Peteena? She’s a fashion poodle! Much like Barbie, but shorter and fatter. And with a tail. And, um, a poodle head. How could anyone resist? Peteena was manufactured by Hasbro in 1966. I can’t figure out for the life of me what they were thinking — perhaps that a poodle enthusiast with a soft spot for kitschy toys might obsess over her 40 years later? There are a few Peteenas on eBay, but the best one is from a seller that looks sort of shady. (No feedback, doesn’t take PayPal.) I guess I just need to keep looking. My dad is a flea market frequenter, but I can’t really ask him to look for this for me — I’m almost certain that he would keep it for himself.
