General Butt Naked.

The man on the left is Joshua Blahyi, a Liberian warlord from the 90’s better known as General Butt Naked.

He’s not a nice guy:

“So, before leading my troops into battle, we would get drunk and drugged up, sacrifice a local teenager, drink their blood, then strip down to our shoes and go into battle wearing colourful wigs and carrying dainty purses we’d looted from civilians. We’d slaughter anyone we saw, chop their heads off and use them as soccer balls. We were nude, fearless, drunk and homicidal. We killed hundreds of people — so many I lost count.”

From Wikipedia:

Apparently, Blahyi believed that his nakedness was a source of protection from bullets. In addition, his acts of violence have a Satanistic tinge: he claimed to a South African Star reporter that he "met Satan regularly and talked to him" and that he took part in monthly human sacrifices from age 11 to 25 (Ellis 268).

Blahyi’s rampage ended in 1996, when the civil war in Liberia was coming to an end. "God telephoned me and told me that I was not the hero I considered myself to be," he said, "so I stopped and became a preacher."

This guy could have been the inspiration for Adewale Akkinuoye-Agbaje's "Mr. Eko" character on 'LOST'!

Dude, I wouldn't want to be within a hundred miles of you when your karma bites your ass.

Hey, I've heard of this guy. He is hardcore. His life is obviously quite different now... from sick kid-sacrificing killer to a preacher who now runs a school that focuses on healing former fighters (many of whom were orphans and the army was the only way to survive)and educates them into useful members of communities and families. He's got quite a story when you look deeper!

Thank you, MistaButla for your objectivity, such as it is. We can all only hope for the best in the unfortunate situation in Liberia - for Africa in general.

This brother is the genuine article. That "old man," the one who did all the violence and mayhem, is dead, crucified with Christ Jesus. This man is a walking testimony to the love and Power of Almighty God. If God can do such a thing for such a man as this, just think what He could do with YOU!

You will never "figure this out" with your finite minds; it takes the enlightening Power of the Spirit of God to bring understanding of spiritual matters. If you want to understand how this works, simply call on the Name of Jesus Christ in humble repentance, and the same Holy Spirit will bring conversion to you.

    Amen!
